Help shape the neighborhood streets of the Upper West Side. Work with your neighbors to create beautiful, green streets with safer bike lanes, great walking spaces, less traffic and cleaner air. The Upper West Side Streets Renaissance Campaign is holding a series of events aimed at empowering residents to re-imagine neighborhood streets and make their visions a reality.

Lessons from Jan Gehl, the World's Foremost Urban Designer
For over 30 years, Jan Gehl has been improving people's lives by making neighborhoods lively, diverse and safe. Jan—a friend and colleague of the late, great Jane Jacobs—will tell entertaining and illustrative stories gleaned from his famous work in Copenhagen, London, Zurich, and Melbourne.

Roll with us on an easy, relaxed bike tour on the Upper West Side's historic residential streets and avenues. Staff from Transporation Alternatives and Upper West Side advocates will discuss the evolution of the neighborhood while exploring how these streets can be transformed into a safe, green haven for cyclists and pedestrians.
